About the Firm
A Chambers Built Around the Client's Ability to Understand Their Own Matter
yutithaq was established with a specific purpose: to give individuals facing pension decisions a clear, written account of their position — and to represent them with care at every stage that follows.
Back to HomeOur Story
Founded on a Straightforward Observation
yutithaq was founded in Bangkok by practitioners who had spent years in larger firms and observed, repeatedly, that pension matters — though often significant in financial terms — did not receive the same careful written treatment as corporate or commercial instructions. Clients would receive verbal summaries, brief letters, or decisions from authorities that they could not meaningfully evaluate without legal training. The founding partners believed this was not acceptable.
The firm opened its chambers on Sathorn Tai Road with a small and deliberately defined scope: pension decisions, administrative appeals, and court proceedings in pension matters. Nothing broader. The narrowness of focus was not a limitation but a commitment — to know this area thoroughly, to be available when clients needed to speak, and to produce written work that clients could keep and use long after the initial instruction.
The name Yutitham — drawn from the Thai word for justice — was chosen because the work the firm does is, at its root, about whether a person has received a lawful and accurate determination of what they are owed. That question deserves a considered answer, set out in writing, at a fee the client can assess before the work begins.
Since opening, the firm has assisted clients from a range of backgrounds, including Thai nationals, expatriates with pension contributions made under Thai-framework schemes, and retired individuals whose benefit calculations appeared to depart from the rules in force at the time of their contributions. Each matter is approached in the same way: read the decision carefully, compare it against the rules, report in plain language, and ask the client what they would like to do next.
Mission & Values
What the Firm Stands For
Written Over Verbal
Every opinion, every update, and every recommendation is delivered in writing. Verbal conversations are followed by written notes. Clients should always be able to refer back to what the firm has said.
Client-Directed
Each step is agreed with the client before it is taken. The firm does not initiate proceedings or extend instructions without the client's written agreement. Decisions belong to the client.
Focused Expertise
The firm does one thing and does it thoroughly. Pension legal work in Thailand requires familiarity with a specific body of rules. Narrow focus produces deeper knowledge and more dependable advice.

How the Firm Conducts Its Work
Thai Bar Council Registration
All practising solicitors hold current registration with the Lawyers Council of Thailand. Registrations are renewed annually and are available for inspection upon request.
Client Confidentiality
All documents received from clients are held under strict professional confidence. Files are stored securely and not shared outside the firm except as required to conduct the specific instruction.
Engagement Letters
Every instruction is confirmed in a written engagement letter before work begins. The letter specifies the scope of work, the fee, and the process for raising any concerns.
Peer Review of Written Advice
All written opinions and appeal submissions are reviewed by a second qualified practitioner before delivery to the client. This reduces the chance of error and improves the quality of the finished document.

PDPA Compliance
The firm processes personal data in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act B.E. 2562 (PDPA). Clients may request access to or erasure of their personal data at any time in writing.
Practice Background
Pension Law in Thailand — A Specialist Area
Pension entitlements in Thailand are governed by a combination of statutory frameworks, including the Provident Fund Act, the Social Security Act, and the Government Pension Fund regulations, together with a body of administrative decisions and interpretive guidance issued by the relevant authorities over many years. The interaction between these sources is not always straightforward, and the calculation of benefits — particularly where an individual's employment history spans multiple employers or multiple contribution periods — can give rise to disputes that are not resolved at the first administrative level.
The firm's practitioners have spent time studying these frameworks in depth, tracking amendments, and following administrative decisions from the relevant authorities. This focus means that when a client brings a pension decision to the firm, the practitioner reading it can situate it within the applicable rules and identify whether the reasoning appears consistent with those rules — or whether a ground for challenge exists.
The administrative appeal process is often the most efficient route: it is faster than court proceedings, less costly, and brings the matter to a written conclusion that either resolves it or creates a clear record for any subsequent court stage. The firm drafts these appeals with care, identifying the specific calculation or decision points at issue and presenting the client's case in a structured written submission that the relevant authority can evaluate on its merits.
Where a matter reaches the court stage, the firm prepares thoroughly. Case files are organised with care, pleadings are drafted and reviewed before filing, and the client is briefed in plain English before each hearing on what is expected to happen and why. The aim throughout is that the client understands their matter — not just trusts that someone else does.
